National film industry players are working together to fight against piracy, including the illegal downloading of content. One of these efforts was carried out by the Indonesian Film Producers Association (APROFI). Film piracy costs the industry Rp. 5 trillion per year.

APROFI Chairman Edwin Nazir said piracy was the same as stealing. The thing that was stolen was intellectual property rights. That is why a legal consultant is needed.

"Due to piracy, the loss of the national film industry reaches Rp 5 trillion each year," he said.

APROFI's Board of Trustees, filmmaker Mira Lesmana, stated that piracy must be taken seriously. The problem of piracy is judged to cause mutual losses, both for producers, directors, actors, caterers, to production transportation.

"We must take firm action against the pirates and together move to change the mindset of society by continuing to provide an understanding of the importance of respecting intellectual property rights," said Mira in her official statement.
